BistrOuge is a tapas and cocktail bar with an Istanbul accent, located in the East Village at 432 E 13th Street between First and Avenue A.
We prepare the freshest and tastiest food in our open kitchen. When we crafted the food menu, especially the small plates, we were inspired by Istanbul food. Istanbul is the cultural center of Turkey, located in between two continents, where Europe meets Asia, where history meets the contemporary. Our eggplant salad, crispy okra with grilled shrimps, grilled meatballs, or pan-seared cod with fava beans and frisee are our versions of Istanbul food.
We make our cocktails from fresh ingredients, house brewed juice and house infused spirits. Our mixologist, Shige created memorable and refreshing cocktails for you. We mix our drinks precisely and artfully. We use hand-cut block ice for certain cocktails.
Tasting, nibbling and sharing food while drinking is part of Istanbul’s culture. In the East Village at BistrOuge we have created this intimate environment where dining or drinking will be a memorable experience for you. Dark sea colored walls like rippling water, sea breeze fragrance, vintage miss-matched chairs, wooden table tops, red benches, music and our attentive service will take you to the lands where you feel most comfortable.
BistrOuge is derived from the color red. Red is passion. That represents our passion for food, drinks, friends and social life. Come to BistrOuge for a drink after work, for a relaxing brunch or dinner, with or without friends, and you will never regret it.
